Foam Fire Extinguisher

£99.00

Foam fire extinguishers come in two sizes: 6 litres and 9 litres, both of which are marked with CE certifications and meet BS EN3 standards. These extinguishers are effective against class A and B fires, which means they can handle fires caused by materials like paper, wood, textiles, and paints. The way a foam fire extinguisher operates is by covering the fire with a layer of foam, effectively smothering it and trapping any flammable vapours.

How to operate a foam fire extinguisher

Begin by holding the foam extinguisher upright, either in your hand or placed securely on the ground at a safe distance from the flames. First, remove the safety pin and break the tamper seal.

Next, free the hose and direct the nozzle at the base of the fire.

Holding the handle in your hand, slowly squeeze to release the extinguisher's contents, aiming it across the fire. As the flames begin to diminish, you can gradually move closer.

Make sure to use the entire contents of the foam extinguisher to ensure the fire is completely out, and keep an eye on the area for any signs of re-ignition.

Remember, only use an extinguisher for small fires. If the fire is too large to handle, evacuate the area immediately, alert others, and call the fire and rescue service.
